Australia captain Tim Paine has been fined 15 percent of his match fee by the International Cricket Council for showing dissent at an umpire over a decision during the 3rd Test against India in Sydney.
Tim Paine was found to be in breach of Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct and a demerit point has been added to disciplinary record and it's the first offence in the 24-month period for the Australia captain.
"Paine was found to have breached Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to 'showing dissent at an umpire's decision during an International Match'," the ICC said in a statement.
Tim Paine came up with an expletive-laden rant that was caught on the stump mic after a DRS review went against his team. The incident occurred in the 56th over of India's first innings on Saturday when there was no conclusive evidence to overturn an on-field call against Pujara. Paine was miffed as a similar decision had went against him in the Melbourne Test which Australia lost by 8 wickets.
